Mark Jones - General Manager Macepark Hotels

Mark spent his early career, after graduating in 1974, with British Transport Hotels. He took his first General Management role in 1980 and then started a period of overseas experience in 1983 that took him first to Zimbabwe as General Manager of the Victoria Falls Hotel, then on to Malawi as the Group General Manager of Malawi Hotels.

In 1988 he Joined Lonrho Hotels in Kenya and as Group Operations Director was responsible for hotels and safari camps that included the famous Norfolk Hotel in Nairobi, the Mount Kenya Safari Club, the Ark and the Mara Safari Club. In 1994 working under the UNDP he was General Manager for a major tourism initiative in Tanzania including a new-build luxury deep-sea game fishing lodge and highly personalized safari camps in the Tanzanian game parks.

Returning to England in 1997 he joined Center Parcs as Operations Director for the UK. On the subsequent sale of Center Parcs he joined the wildly successful Eden Project as Director of Operations.

In 2005 he joined the Macepark Group as General Manager for the hotels division including the development of one of the most significant new-build hotel projects in the UK at Kilworth in Leicestershire.
